Difference Between Transmission and Distribution lines – The Transmission and Distribution lines are both used to carry electricity from one place to another place.   3. Transmission lines carry electricity at very high voltage, typically around 11,000 volts, whereas distribution lines supply electricity at a much lower and safer voltage level of about 220 volts.
  4. A transmission line carries current at 69 kilovolts or above, while a distribution line carries current at less than 69 kilovolts.
  5. Distribution lines are thinner compared to transmission lines.
